The NIGHTINGALE project is presented at ECTES 2024 in Estoril, Portugal

The NIGHTINGALE consortium attended the 23rd European Congress of Trauma and Emergency Surgery in Estoril, Portugal from 28-30 April.

ECTES brings together experts in the field of emergency medicine to exchange ideas, discuss the implementation of new treatments and consider new ways of organising work.

On Tuesday, 30 April the NIGHTINGALE Project was presented to the participants in the Disaster and Military Medicine section of the congress. The presentation focused on integrating new technologies in mass casualty incidents, looking especially at the legal, ethical, and societal challenges.

The NIGHTINGALE special session included the following presentations:

  1. The challenge of the EU funded project NIGHTINGALE by ESTES – European Society for Trauma and Emergency Surgery

  2. Due diligence – An overview by Reichman University (IDC Herzliya)

  3. Discussion of three representative technologies from the NIT-KIT: Digital triage tag, UAV rapid triaging system, and the decision support service-central command by ASTRIAL and Reichman University (IDC Herzliya)

  4. Description of the two theoretical technologies; i. Artificial Intelligence-based triage tag with expectant category; ii. UAV biometrical scanner integrated data sharing technology by ESTES – European Society for Trauma and Emergency Surgery
