European Emergency Number Association Conference

From 19 – 21 April 2023, NIGHTINGALE partners participated in the European Emergency Number Association Conference and Exhibition in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
The annual EENA conference is a unique event for professionals in civil protection and emergency services to present new technologies and share valuable insights with experts from across the industry. Several NIGHTINGALE partners participated in the conference, presenting their ongoing innovative research.
The NIGHTINGALE project presentation was part of the panel “Involving Citizens in Disaster Management” and the result of collaborative efforts of Deveryware, Particle, and Cittadinanzattiva. The panel’s theme was how the role of Horizon 2020 funding fostered the development of innovative technologies, methodologies, and strategies to improve emergency management and enhance the involvement of citizens in the process. Jorge Forcada presented the NIGHTINGALE toolkit and, focusing on the PEMEA mobile application for citizens and explaining the use of this application in multi-case incident scenarios.
The session highlighted important issues of raising awareness, enhancing preparedness, and facilitating communication with citizens in emergency and disaster situations. The partners left the conference motivated with new ideas and strategies for advancing emergency technologies.
