NIGHTINGALE participates in the SDMPH Annual Conference
NIghtingale participation
Our NIGHTINGALE partner, Dr Marta Caviglia, from Center for Research and Training in Disaster Medicine, Humanitarian Aid, and Global Health (CRIMEDIM) attended the conference.
On 5 December, Marta discussed the NIGHTINGALE project and ongoing development of first responders technologies in a presentation titled Developing Wearable (Wristband) and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (Drone) Advanced Technologies in Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) Response: the NIGHTINGALE project.
Her presentation focused on the tools utilised and being developed as part of the NIGHTINGALE Toolkit, such as UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) and the wearable technologies, such as the Digital Triage Tag, the First Responder Wearable, and the Triage and Vital Signs Application for a mobile phone.
Utilising insights gathered from the Small Scale Exercise that took place earlier this year in Novara, Marta highlighted the future developments of the tools for use in the upcoming full-scale testing and validation exercises in realistic mass casualty scenarios.
