PSCE conference in Lavrion, Greece
NIGHTINGALE participates in a series of crisis management events
From the 8th to the 11th of May, the NIGHTINGALE Project Coordinator, the Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS), has been taking part in the final conference of the Search & Rescue project and the Public Safety Communication Europe Conference in the Lavrion Technological and Cultural Park in Greece.
The Search & Rescue project, which is part of the Responder Technology Cluster, organised a practical workshop and its final conference on the 8th and the 9th of May. The conference summarised the results and achievements of the project, showcasing innovative equipment and technologies that enhance first responders’ capabilities and safety during Search and Rescue operations. These solutions have been developed and fine-tuned in the last 3 years and tested through 7 use cases across Europe.
The event was a perfect opportunity to continue discussing closer collaboration between the projects and learning from the results, such as developing requirements for acquiring digital information from victims and providing technological solutions to optimise disaster response and victim assistance.
The final event was followed by the PSCE Conference, which was organised by ICCS in collaboration with the National Technical University of Athens and the Public Safety Communication Europe (PSCE). The conference covers crucial topics in the field of public security: security threats posed by fake-based technologies, military cooperation for crisis management, new technologies for Search and Rescue operations, and Horizon scanning in public safety.
On the 11th of May, the Search & Rescue, INGENIOUS and NIGHTINGALE projects will lead the Community for European Research and Innovation for Security (CERIS) session on developing technologies for first responders.
